Race NEWS -

Greg Stingle and son Ryan, headed to the world famous, Crandon International Raceway in Crandon, WI. The 40th running of the Brush 101 races were started with a trip down memory lane on parts of the old 25 mile race course. Followed by a "Day at the Beach" activities, everyone was ready to get down to racing for the Light Buggy Championship.

Friday's practice went well and the team made final preps for Saturday's World Championship race. While being a regular points round, Crandon Staff has created the World Championship Races for Saturday only and the winner collects a valuable C.I.O.R.A. Champion Ring. With some heavy traffic holding Ryan towards the back of the pack, Greg was moving through the pack and racing for all he had, but time ran out and at the checkers, Greg finished 6th, with Ryan coming to the line in 11th.

Sunday was a different deal...Wesley, followed by Matt, then Greg, fought so hard for the last half of the races, everyone forgot about the rest of the class. They raced around the 1.75 mile course with only 1-2 car length between 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Greg moved side by side with Matt, but couldn't make the move for the next spot. He tried again headed over the Traxxas jump on the last lap and Matt pushed even harder by out-braking the last turn. Greg took the 3rd spot behind Matt with Wesley taking the win. While all this happened, Ryan took a rough tumble on the barn jump after losing a tire. The buggy flipped over and held up fine, protecting Ryan from all major injuries. Though he was taken to the ambulance to be checked over by the EMT's, he was released on his own.

To end the race season on the 40th running of the Brush Run races was wanted by most of the Sportsman racers, the end result is not what Greg wanted for the points chase. 3 wins and 7 top 5 finishes was a very good season and he held on to 3rd place, only 7 points from the title.
